Swimming and Diving Send 12 to Finals after Day 2 Prelims

500 free, 200 IM and 50 made for a busy session.
 The University of Louisville swimming and diving team had a strong showing this morning in Day 2 preliminary competition. The Cards earned 12 second swims tonight.

In the 500-free, . Sophie Cattermole scorched her heat with a 4:39.85 and earned lane 4 for tonight's A-Final. Mallory Comerford puts up a 4:40.57 and won her heat and the No. 2 seed. Emily Moser's 4:56.51   Maggie Jahns finished with a 4:51.63 for the C-final and Emily Moser finishes second in her heat in the 500-free with a time of 4:51.94 to tie for the eighth spot in the C-final and sparking a swimoff that she won, securing the last spot in the finals. Arina Openysheva goes 4:56.51 in her heat.

In the 200-IM, Rachael Bradford Feldman boarded a 1:56.82 and earned the second seed in the A-Final. Grace Oglesby and Alina Kendzior will join her in the A-final going 1:57.48 and 1:57.75 respectively. ! Mariia Astashkina put up a 1:59.73 and will be seeded 7th in the B-final. Lauren James  posted  of a time 2:01.24 and won her heat while Gracie Long went 2:01.02 to round out the field.

 In the 50-free, Casey Fanz puts up a 22.10 and earned an A-final slot being the fourth fastest in the field. Lainey Visscher went 22.32 and will be the No. 7 seed going into tonight's A-final. Avery Braunecker is in the B-final with a 22.48.  Nastja Govejsek had a 22.78 B-cut time in the 50-free to round out the field.

In men's 1 meter diving prelims, Daniel Pinto scored 280.80 (18th), Evan Cooper had 207.00 (26th) and Daniel Fecteau posted a 252.25 (32nd).
