November 08, 2018 | Men's Tennis
Brandon Lancaster, David Mizrahi, Juan Paredes and Alex Wesbrooks will compete this weekend
LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The University of Louisville men's tennis team will wrap up its fall schedule this weekend with the Longhorn Invitational in Austin, Texas. The tournament will be held Friday through Sunday at the Texas Tennis Center and Weller Tennis Center.
Representing the Cardinals will be Brandon Lancaster, David Mizrahi, Juan Paredes and Alex Wesbrooks.
"Brandon, Alex, Juan and David are excited to play in this great tournament," said UofL head coach Rex Ecarma. "The competition is a high level. We do not usually play in this part of the country so it will be new competition and we have not been to the University of Texas in almost 20 years."
The tournament will be formatted as four singles and four doubles compass draws and features players from 17 different schools, including seven programs who played in the 2018 NCAA Tournament. Joining the Cardinals will be Auburn, Baylor, Iowa, Liberty, LSU, Marquette, Miami, Rice, St. Edwards, TCU, Texas, Texas Tech, Tyler Junior College, Tulane, UCF and Louisiana Lafayette.
Mizrahi leads the Cardinals with seven singles victories in fall play. The freshman posted a strong collegiate debut for Louisville at the Greater Cincinnati Collegiate Invitational with four straight singles wins.
Lancaster has also had a solid fall with five singles wins and a 5-1 record in doubles action, including winning the doubles title at the Vanderbilt Commodore Scramble.
