Senior George Hedley wins in singles
Senior George Hedley led the University of Louisville men's tennis team on day two of the Lakewood Ranch Dick Vitale Intercollegiate Clay Court Classic Saturday.
"I'm happy for George who got a nice win today," said UofL head coach Rex Ecarma. "He came back from 5-1 down to win seven straight games."
Hedley, a senior from Berkshire, England, picked up an 8-5 victory over Florida State's Bryn Nahrung in matchup play.
Senior Brandon Lancaster (Louisville, Ky.) fell 6-3, 6-2 to Illinois' Vuk Budic in the consolation quarterfinals while freshman David Mizrahi (New York, N.Y.) lost 7-5, 6-2 to Oklahoma State's Emile Hudd in another consolation quarterfinal contest.
Freshman Juan Paredes (Cali, Colombia) fell 8-5 to Florida State's Richard Thongoana in matchup play.
