Cardinals Set to Host Georgia Tech in Regular Season Finale

Cards will honor three seniors
The University of Louisville Volleyball team will return home on this Thanksgiving weekend for a rematch with Georgia Tech. The Cards and Yellow Jackets will square off at 5:00 pm this Friday inside Cardinal Arena.
UofL enters the game with an overall mark of 20-8 and an ACC conference record of 13-4. Entering the week, UofL is coming off a tough 3-2 (25-27, 25-22, 25-19, 16-25, 11-15) loss at Notre Dame last Friday.
On offense, the Cards got a big boost when junior Melanie McHenry, who leads the team with 331 kills, returned to the lineup last week. Senior Jasmine Bennett is the Cards' leader in hitting percentage, hitting it at a .376 clip. Defensively, the Cards are led by senior Molly Sauer, who has accumulated 455 digs on the year, and by their leader in total blocks, freshman Emily Scott, who has 79.
Louisville and Georgia Tech's first meeting this season came in Atlanta back on September 28. Led by junior Megan Sloan's 12 kills and Sauer's 15 digs, the Cards swept the Yellow Jackets, 3-0 (25-16, 25-21, 25-17).Â
Georgia Tech
The Yellow Jackets enter the week with an overall mark of 17-12 and an ACC mark of 6-10. Last Friday, the Jackets went on the road and won a 3-1 (25-17, 19-25, 25-20, 27-25) contest over Virginia. Georgia Tech is led offensively by freshman Mariana Brambilla, who has 380 kills on the year, and by senior Lauren Frekring, who leads the team in hitting percentage at .394. On defense, Brambilla also leads the team in digs with 328, while junior Kodie Comby leads the Jackets with 107 total blocks.Â
