
Cardinals Add 16 Players for 2019 Class

The class includes players from two countries and 12 different states.
LOUISVILLE, Ky. – University of Louisville women's lacrosse announced their 2019 class, which features 16 student-athletes.Â
The class includes players from two countries (United States and Canada) and 12 different states, led by two from Florida, Kentucky and Virginia.
"We are very excited about our 2019 recruiting class, which is a large, deep and talented class," said head coach Scott Teeter. "We are anxious to welcome these players to campus, can't wait to get them in uniform and believe they have the ability to help take our program to new heights. They will help push our upperclassmen and make our program competitive on the national stage."
Allegra Catalano, Attacker, Lake Worth, Fla., American Heritage Delray

Catalano is a fifth year starter for the American Heritage Delray lacrosse team. She helped lead American Heritage to a 2018 FHSAA Championship and they ranked fourth nationally at the end of the season. A 2018 team captain, she was named 2018 US Lacrosse All-American, along with being named All-Academic. She was a 2017 and 2018 Under Armour All-American, and in 2016, 2017 and 2018, was named South Florida National Team, Sun Sentinel & Palm Beach Post First Team All County, All District First Team and All Region First Team.

Belle Dora, Attacker, Milton, Ga., Milton

Dora attended Milton High School in Milton, Ga., and was named Georgia First Team All-State in both 2017 and 2018. She was a 2017 US Lacrosse High School All-American, 2016 Under Armour All-American and competed for the South Team. She also competed for the South All-Star Team at the Summer Genesis Invitational. In 2015, she was named to the Under Armour Top 150.

Maggie Foster, Defender, Louisville, Ky., Eastern

Foster played high school lacrosse at Eastern High School in Louisville, Ky., where she helped lead the Eagles to a No. 1 ranking and state runner-up finish in 2017. She was named 2017 and 2018 Kentucky Defender of the Year. She was named All-State Second Team as a freshman and then First Team All-State as a sophomore and junior. In 2017 and 2018, she was named Courier Journal All-State in both lacrosse and field hockey. Following her sophomore and junior seasons, she was named Under Armour All-American Underclassmen Midwest team.

Izzy Holmes, Attacker, Rockford, Mich., Rockford

Holmes helped lead Rockford High School to varsity state championships in 2016, 2017 and 2018. She was named honorable mention All-Conference and All-State and following the North Star was named Most Valuable Player. Twice she made the all-star team at NXT Showcase and also made the all-star team at 3D Lacrosse.

Kiely Howe, Defender, Ithaca, N.Y., Ithaca

Howe is a member of the Ithaca High School lacrosse team from Ithaca, N.Y. She helped lead Ithaca to a Section 4 Championship and was later named First Team All-Section 4. She made the national school girls team for upstate New York and was named to the Ithaca High School Scholar Team. She also received several honors competing for her varsity hockey team.

Grace Jenny, Attacker/Midfielder, Rocky River, Ohio, Magnificat

Jenny played high school lacrosse at Magnificat in Rocky River, Ohio. As a sophomore and a junior, she was named Lacrosse First Team All-Region and Magnificat Most Valuable Player. In 2016 and 2017, she was named Lacrosse Second Team All-Region and Magnificat Lacrosse Offensive Player of the Year. She also received several field hockey awards, including being named 2018-19 Ohio Field Hockey Coaches Association Academic All-Ohio.

Sydney Kirchenheiter, Attacker/Midfielder, Severna Park, Md., Severn School

Kirchenheiter has been a three-sport athlete (lacrosse, field hockey, basketball) all four years at Severn School. Last season, she received the Kimball Ground Ball Award, ranking first on the team in ground balls, second in caused turnovers, third in assists, third in draw controls and fourth in goals. In field hockey, she was varsity captain, was named All-Conference and was an All-State nominee.

Another three-sport athlete, Lifson played lacrosse, field hockey and basketball at Collegiate School in Richmond, Va. She was named Collegiate lacrosse's team captain prior to the 2019 season and in 2018, was named Lacrosse All-Metro First Team and All-State Second Team. She's team captain on the basketball team and received the Coaches' Award in Field Hockey and Basketball.

Mangines is a captain for the American Heritage Delray lacrosse team. She helped lead American Heritage to a 2018 FHSAA Championship and they ranked fourth nationally at the end of the season. In 2018, she was named US Lacrosse All-American, and in 2017 and 2018 was named Sun Sentinel All-County First Team. In addition, she was named All-Region First Team in 2018, All-Region Second Team in 2017, and All-District First Team in 2017 and 2018.

Maddie McDonough, Midfielder, Norwell, Mass., Norwell

Maddie is a starter for the Norwell lacrosse team and helped lead the team, along with her sister, to the 2017 Massachusetts State Championship. She was named a South Shore League All-Star at the conclusion of the season. In addition, she was named to the Patriot Ledger All-Scholastic Team.

Malley McFarlane, Defender, Midfielder, Ashburn, Va., Bishop Ireton

Malley is a starting defender for the Bishop Ireton lacrosse team. She helped lead Bishop Ireton to a 2018 VISSA Lacrosse Championship and a 2018 WCAC Lacrosse Championship. At the conclusion of the 2017 season, she was named a Virginia 5A All-State Defender.

Grace New, Attacker/Midfielder, Cary, N.C., Cardinal Gibbons

New is a senior captain for the Cardinal Gibbons lacrosse team and has helped the team win three state championships. She was named a 2018 All-American and 2018 N&O All-Metro Team. Her sister Cassie is also a member of the Louisville lacrosse team.

Ashley Osborne, Defensive Midfielder, Louisville, Ky., Ballard

Osborne is a three-time varsity starter and three-time team MVP for Ballard lacrosse. She was named 2018 Kentucky Midfielder of the Year, 2018 First Team All-State and 2018 All-Metro Tournament Team. She was also named three times to the All-District Tournament team, three times to the Kentucky All-Star Game, and a 2017 and 2018 Under Armour All-American. She was also three-time All-State Academic First Team.

Perroni is a starting defender for the Sinclair Secondary School in Whitby, Ontario. She helped lead Sinclair to a LOSSA Championship in 2015. She has also helped lead the Lady Blue Knights to a Provincial Championship in 2017 and 2018 and the Whitby Warriors to a Box Provincial Championship in 2018. She also plays hockey and was named Sinclair's Most Valuable Player.

Scott is a starter on the Conestoga lacrosse, soccer and basketball teams. A three-year starter for the lacrosse team, she helped lead Conestoga to a 2016 State Championship. She was named All-Central League. She was recognized on NXT Philly Showcase and Under Armour Prodigy. She was also named All-Central League in soccer and basketball.

Steffens is a starting attacker for the Eastside Catholic lacrosse team. At the conclusion of the 2018 season, she was an Adrenaline All-American. She was named All-State in 2017 and 2018, and named All-Conference in 2016, 2017 and 2018. She was a member of Team Washington in 2017 and 2018.
