Four Cardinals head to Lakewood Ranch, Fla. this weekend
LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The University of Louisville men's tennis team will continue their fall schedule this weekend with a trip to Lakewood Ranch, Fla. for the Dick Vitale Intercollegiate Clay Court Classic. The tournament is set to begin on Friday and will run through Sunday afternoon.
Representing the Cardinals will be George Hedley, Brandon Lancaster, David Mizrahi and Juan Paredes.
"This is a great tournament for the players," said UofL head coach Rex Ecarma. "It may be their favorite one every year. The staff does a great job running it and the events off the court are first-class. But also the competition is fierce and doing well in it will boost our confidence."
The Cardinals will square off against players from some of the nation's top programs, including Florida Gulf Coast, Florida, Florida State, Illinois, Michigan, Navy, Notre Dame, Oklahoma State and Princeton.
Lancaster and Hedley teamed to win the doubles title at the Vanderbilt Commodore Scramble to highlight their fall seasons. Paredes and Mizrahi have also put together a number of wins throughout the fall. Paredes reached the doubles consolation final at the Louisville Invitational alongside Fredrik Moe, while Mizrahi was undefeated in singles at the Great Cincinnati Collegiate Invitational.
