Louisville will square off against the Buckeyes on Sunday at 11 a.m.
LOUISVILLE, Ky. - Following wins over Marquette and Butler last weekend, University of Louisville lacrosse continues fall play at Ohio State this Sunday. The Cardinals and Buckeyes will square off at 11 a.m.
In the win over Marquette, the Cardinals got off to a slow start before rallying to a 16-11 victory. Against the Bulldogs in the second game, they jumped out to a 9-0 lead and cruised to a 22-11 win.
"We got off to a slow start against Marquette, but played really well in the final 40 minutes. Then we really jumped out on Butler before letting them back in the game a little bit. We played well in spurts last weekend, but we need to put together a full 60 minutes," said head coach Scott Teeter.
After finishing second on the team with 42 goals last year, senior Tessa Chad began fall play with a flash, scoring 12 goals in wins over Marquette and Butler.
Next weekend, Louisville travels to Sparks, Md., on Saturday to play at Tierney Field, the home of U.S. Lacrosse. Also competing will be John Hopkins, Georgetown and Stanford. The next day, they venture to Loyola University to play Michigan at 10:40 a.m., Penn at 12:10 p.m. and Maryland at 2:20 p.m. The Michigan and Maryland games will be 30-minute contests with running clock, while the Penn contest will be a full game.
Louisville wraps up the fall season on Oct. 20, as they host Vanderbilt, Indy and Montevallo.
