
Cardinals Jump into a Tie for 5th Place in Hawaii

The Cardinals sit 10 shots off the lead after two rounds of play.
LOUISVILLE, Ky. - A little rain didn't stop the University of Louisville's climb up the leaderboard on day two of the Warrior Princeville Makai Invitational.
The Cardinals moved up three spots to fifth place heading into Tuesday's final round of action.
Entering Tuesday's action, the Cardinals (286-281—567) find themselves 10 shots off the leader at 9-under-par and are tied with Loyola-Marymount. No. 6 Pepperdine (273-284—557) sits at the top of the leader board at 19-under, four shots ahead of second place Missouri (286-275—561).
John Murphy tied for the second-best round of the day, shooting a second round 65 to move up to fifth place, and sits seven shots off the tournament lead.
After firing a 1-under-par 71 on Sunday, Murphy responded with four birdies on the front nine holes and one on the back, but his eagle on 18 helped the Cardinals make their move up the standings.
After opening play with a 4-under-par 68, Matthias Schmid dropped a pair of strokes on Monday, shooting a 2-under-par 70 to drop to seventh.
Devin Morley, who is playing as an individual, was 1-under par to drop into a tie for 13th.
Jiri Zuska, who fired a 74 on Sunday, responded with a 2-under-par 70 to tie for 38th, while Simon Zach and Trevor Johnson were both 4-over-par to end the day in a tie for 80th and 84th, respectively.
The third round begins Tuesday morning with a 2 p.m. ET shotgun start. Louisville will be paired with Cal-State Fullerton, Louisiana, and Sam Houston State.
