
Cardinals Head to Maryland for Two Fall Tournaments

Louisville will square off against some of the nation’s top programs over two days of competition.
LOUISVILLE, Ky. – University of Louisville lacrosse continues fall play this weekend as they travel to Maryland, where they will square off against some of the nation's top programs over two days of competition.Â

On Saturday, the Cardinals compete at Tierney Field in Sparks, Md., the home of U.S. Lacrosse, and will meet three teams who qualified for the 2018 NCAA Tournament. Louisville plays Johns Hopkins at 9 a.m., Georgetown at 10 a.m. and concludes the day with Stanford at 12 p.m.

The Cardinals then head to Loyola University, where they will face off against Michigan at 10:40 a.m., Penn at 12:10 p.m., and 2018 NCAA semifinalist Maryland at 2:20 p.m. Louisville will play the full 60-minutes against Penn, while the games against Maryland and Michigan will be 30-minute contests with running clock.

Tessa Chad has paced the Cardinals through their first three games this fall. The senior attacker was Louisville's leading scorer against Ohio State last weekend and tallied 12 goals in the wins over Marquette and Butler.Â

The Cardinals will conclude the fall season on Oct. 20 at home, welcoming Vanderbilt, Indy and Montevallo to UofL Lacrosse Stadium.
