
Men's Golf Takes the Lead on Day Two of the Louisville Cardinal Challenge

The Cardinals shot a 2-under par 286 on Saturday.
LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Bolstered by a 5-under par 137 from Simon Zach, the University of Louisville men's golf team has moved into first place after two rounds of the Louisville Cardinal Challenge.
As a team, the Cardinals shot a 2-under par 286 for a two-round total of 572, taking the lead from Miami (Ohio) by just one stroke. Eastern Kentucky is third at 13-over par, while East Tennessee State is in fourth place at 15-over par. Rounding out the top-five of the 13-team field is Louisiana at 19-over par.
Playing as an individual, Erik Dulik is in second place after carding a 2-under par 70 in the second round. With a 6-under par two-round total of 138, the junior is just one shot behind current leader Patrick Flavin of Miami (Ohio).
Nicolas Platret shot a 5-under par 67 and birdied a career-high seven holes. The senior vaulted 34 spots in the individual rankings to tie for fourth place with a total of 142 after two rounds.
The Cardinals will be back in action for the final day of the tournament on Sunday, paired with Miami (Ohio) and Eastern Kentucky, at 10:40 a.m. ET.
