"We're excited to be back on the field. It was a busy summer for our team with most of our guys jumping into summer baseball as soon as we returned from Omaha," said Cardinals head coach Dan McDonnell. "Everyone in the program is aware of the talented and experienced players we lost from last year's squad to professional baseball and through graduation, so the level competition this fall could be as high as we've seen in a long time. There is no entitlement in this program, so what happens on and off the field during fall ball will play an important role in the process of determining the roles on this team in the spring."
