Andrea Cottrell Wins Bronze at World University Games in Taipei

University of Louisville swimmer Andrea Cottrell led Team USA with a bronze-medal finish in the women's 100-meter breaststroke at the 2017 World University Games in Taipei last night.
Cottrell had to battle the Japanese pair of Kanako Watanabe and Rena Aoki. Watanabe beat the field by almost a half a second, with a 1:06.85, the only sub-1:07 of the final. Aoki just out-touched the Reynoldsburg, Ohio native by .01, with a 1:07.36. Cottrell hit the wall in 1:07.37 for the bronze earning the United States' eighth medal over the first three nights of competition.
