Cards capture singles and doubles titles in ITA Summer Circuit at Bass-Rudd Tennis Center
LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The University of Louisville's George Hedley and Parker Wynn captured the doubles title of the Louisville ITA Summer Circuit while Wynn emerged in an all-Cardinal singles final Monday afternoon at the Bass-Rudd Tennis Center.
"Parker and George did a good job of working themselves to competition form as each round went through," said UofL head coach Rex Ecarma. "They both finished well and looked sharper. Both of them have been working on things about their game the past month that they were willing to use this tournament and it will help them in this new season. They are two great guys that represent our program well and they did it again this weekend."
In doubles action, Wynn and Hedley capped a 3-0 run in the tournament with an 8-3 win in the finals. In singles, Wynn, a rising sophomore from North Richland Hills, Texas and Hedley, a rising junior from Berkshire, England, each registered straight-set wins to set up an all-Louisville final in which Wynn prevailed 6-4, 6-4 to end the tournament with his third straight victory.
