Cards will face Oklahoma's Papa and Harris in their first round match Thursday at 2:30 p.m.
The University of Louisville's Sean Donohue and Parker Wynn will travel to Athens, Ga., to take on Oklahoma's 15th-ranked duo of Spencer Papa and Andrew Harris in the first round of the NCAA Doubles Championship Thursday at 2:30 p.m.
"The Oklahoma doubles team is really good," said UofL head coach Rex Ecarma. "That is what you expect at the championships, everybody is good. This is the cream of the crop in our sport. I told the guys to focus on their own strengths, run the plays that we have taught them, use variety and play loose. Sean and Parker play a unique style of doubles that puts a lot of pressure on their opponents. They have won with that all season long and there is no reason to change it now."
Donohue, a senior from Louisville, Ky., and Wynn, a freshman from North Richland, Hills, Texas, have compiled a 25-7 overall record including a 19-7 tally at No. 1. The duo currently stands at No. 23 in the Intercollegiate Tennis Association doubles rankings after appearing in eight ranking periods appearing as high as No. 22.
•They become the seventh NCAA doubles selection in program history to earn an NCAA Championship bid and the first since 2011 when Austen Childs and Viktor Maksimcuk reached the quarterfinals and garnered All-America honors.
•Donohue leads the Cardinals with a 32-10 overall doubles tally, while Wynn finished his rookie campaign with a 41-10 singles record.
•The University of Louisville men's tennis team finished the 2017 season with a 22-10 overall record after earning the program's 12th NCAA bid and advancing to the finals of the Columbus Regional.
•Oklahoma's Harris and Papa were named to the All-Big 12 Second Team and garnered All-Tournament honors in doubles at the Big 12 Championships.
