Donohue and Wynn No. 22 in Doubles Rankings
March 21, 2017 | Men's Tennis
Donohue and Wynn have compiled a 16-1 record in doubles
The University of Louisville's Sean Donohue and Parker Wynn are ranked No. 22 in the Intercollegiate Tennis Association doubles rankings released on March 21. The Cardinals stand at No. 34 in the team rankings.
"I am happy that Sean and Parker are being rewarded by a good ranking," said UofL head coach Rex Ecarma. "They have the potential to do more and our entire team has a lot of confidence in them. They would be even higher if two of their matches were not stopped due to the "clinch" rule when they were very close to winning against other ranked teams."
Donohue, a senior from Louisville, Ky. (St. Xavier) and Wynn, a freshman from North Richland Hills, Texas, have compiled a 16-1 overall record including a 10-1 dual match tally at No. 1. This is the duo's third appearance in the national rankings this season. They debuted at No. 37 on Feb. 21, appeared at No. 65 on March 7 and cracked the top-25 for the first time this week.
The Cardinals (11-3, 2-1 ACC) return to action on Friday when they play host to No. 29 Florida State at 4:30 p.m. The match will be televised on ACC Network Extra. Louisville brings a seven-match win streak into Friday's matchup, most recently defeating then-No. 28 Notre Dame 4-3 in an ACC contest at the Bass-Rudd Tennis Center on March 11.
