Cardinal vault from 42nd to 25th after a fourth place finish at the ACC Championships
LOUISVILLE, Ky. -- The Louisville women's track and field team was ranked 25th in the sixth week edition of the USTFCCCA Indoor Team Rankings, the organization announced on Monday. It is the first Top 25 ranking for the women's team this season.Â
"It's exciting to see our women's team vault into the Top 25," said head coach Dale Cowper. "The team has worked hard throughout the indoor season and is clearly being rewarded for putting thing together in the championship segment of the season. Now the challenge will be to build on the ranking throughout the NCAA Championships hosted by Texas A&M on March 9-10."
Louisville made the biggest move of the week after finishing fourth at the ACC Championships on Saturday.  The Cardinals vaulted from No. 42 to No. 25. Louisville saw senior Dolly Nyemah jump to No. 4 in the NCAA Division I weight throw rankings after her win in the event at the ACC Championships.  Â
Emmonnie Henderson ranks 10th nationally in the shot put and junior Holly Hankenson ranks 10th nationally in the heptathlon. Senior Bre'Yana Wash and freshman Alexis Gibbons rank 25th in the long jump.Â
