The Cardinals totaled a 9-over-par 585 through 36 holes.
LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The long layoff between the fall and spring golf seasons did little to affect the stellar play of Louisville women's golfer Lauren Hartlage.
The freshman shot a two-round score on Monday of 4-under-par 140 and is tied for first at the Central District Invitational in Port St. Lucie, Fla. Hartlage, who has one of two eagles in the field, logged a 2-under-par 70 in the opening round and then compiled a 2-under-par 70 to end the day.
Collectively, Louisville is 9-over-par 585 through 36 holes and sits in second place. No. 7 Furman leads the 14-team field with a 5-under-par 571. Teams begin the final 18 holes of competition, with an 8:30 a.m. ET shotgun on Tuesday.
Molly Skapik also put together a strong performance in the team's first spring tournament. She is tied for seventh after shooting a 3-over-par 147. Olivia Cason also is in the top 20 on the individual leaderboard, with a 4-over-par 148. Louise Oxner has the fourth-best score on the team, with a 14-over-par 158.
