Women's Golf Finishes Third at Central District Invitational

The Cardinals earned their third top-five finish this year.
LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The University of Louisville women's golf team earned a third-place finish at the Central District Invitational on Tuesday in Port St. Lucie, Fla.
Capping their first spring tournament, the Cardinals shot a 26-over-par 890 at the St Lucie Trail Golf Club and finished ahead of two other top-50 programs, including Atlantic Coast Conference foe North Carolina. It is Louisville's third top-five finish this season.
Freshman Lauren Hartlage earned her third top-five finish, shooting a 2-over-par 218, to place fourth. On the first day, when teams played 36 holes, she had recorded consecutive 2-under-par 70 performances.
Molly Skapik and Olivia Cason each placed inside the top 15. Skapik, who shot a 3-over-par 75 on the final day, secured a 6-over-par 222 to tie for 12th. Cason, who matched Skapik's third-round performance, tied for 14th with a 7-over-par 223.
Louise Oxner rounded out the top-four scorers, tying for 45th behind a 19-over-par 235.
Shannon Gramley competed as the Cardinals' lone individual, and she tied for 37th.
Louisville returns to action next weekend, when it heads south to take part in the Hurricane Invitational from Feb. 27-March 1. The three-day event is being held at the Biltmore Golf Course in Coral Gables, Fla.
