Mallory Comerford Named to the USA Junior National Team

Comerford is one of five swimmers named in multiple events
University of Louisville sophomore Mallory Comerford was one of the 65 members named by USA Swimming today for the 2016-17 USA Swimming National Junior Team, honoring many of the nation's top 18-and-under swimmers for their performances in 2016.
Comerford qualified in the 100-free, the 200-free and the 100-fly.Â

Five swimmers earned National Junior Team status in a team-high three events: Margaret Aroesty (Long Beach, N.Y./Long Island Aquatic Club), Mallory Comerford (Kalamazoo, Mich./University of Louisville), Cameron Craig (Monroe, Mich./Club Wolverine), Isabel Ivey (Bloomington, Ill./Waves Bloomington/Normal Y) and Maxime Rooney (Livermore, Calif./Pleasanton Seahawks).

2016-17 National Junior Team by the Numbers:
New selection procedures for the National Junior Team were unveiled earlier this year and can be found online at usaswimming.org. Â

The complete National Junior Team roster can be found online here. National Junior Team members must be age 18 or under on Sept. 1, 2016.

In addition to the National Junior Team, the 18 & Under World 100 will be announced next week.
