Hedley Reaches Singles Quarterfinals of British North Oxford Open

George Hedley posts three wins in the tournament

University of Louisville men's tennis player George Hedley recently reached the quarterfinals of the British North Oxford Men's Open.

"George continues his success in the top Open tournaments in Great Britain," said UofL head coach Rex Ecarma. "These tournaments have a small draw size so it makes the quality of the draw even higher. I told him after the season to play a lot of top tournaments to develop the things we have been working with him on here in Louisville and he is doing just that. He also knows that the guys winning tournament matches in the summer will be the first option for traveling in the fall college tournaments. George really wants to play high in our lineup right away and his results are supporting that desire. I am really happy with him."

Hedley, a rising sophomore from Berkshire, England, posted three straight singles victories in the 32-player draw to reach the quarterfinals where he lost in three sets.
