Christopher Morin-Koughoucheff posts 5-1 record in the tournament
The University of Louisville's Christopher Morin-Kougoucheff advanced to the singles semifinals of the United States Tennis Association (USTA)National Men's Open Clay Court Championships last week in Ft. Lauderdale, Fla.
"Christopher is starting off his summer well," said UofL head coach Rex Ecarma. "He wanted to get right on with competing after his impressive showing in the ACC Tournament. He understands he is the highest returning player in our line-up and the responsibility of that."
Morin-Kougoucheff, a rising sophomore from Capbreton, France, registered five straight wins in the 128-player draw to reach the semifinals where he fell 7-6(6), 6-3.
As a freshman, Morin-Kougoucheff posted a 20-17 overall singles record and had 12 dual match wins playing mostly at No. 2 for the Cardinals.
