
Cards Ready for Stillwater Regional on Monday

Cards advanced to third consecutive regional, which begins on Monday morning.
STILLWATER, OKla. - The University of Louisville men's golf team has prepared for this opportunity all year long. Playing a competive national schedule, the Cardinals competed at a high level and were rewarded with a trip to the Stillwater Regional, which begins Monday at Karsten Creek, home of the Oklahoma State's men's golf team.
The Cardnals are the No. 10 seed will and will tee off Monday morning at 10:15 a.m. (ET) at the par-72, 7,418-yard layout. The 54-hole event will run through Wednesday with 18 holes being contested each day.
The Tom Fazio design has twice hosted the NCAA Championship, holding the event in 2003 and 2011. Additionally, the course served as home to the Karsten Creek Collegiate in 1996, the NCAA Central Regional in 2001, the Ping/Golfweek Preview in 2002 and 2010 and the NCAA South Central Regional in 2009.
Louisville's lineup will consist of senior Robin Sciot-Siegrist as well as freshman Keegan de Lange, junior J.D. Lehman, freshman Simon Zach and sophomore Erik Dulik. De Lange, Zach and Dulik will make their regional debut for the Cardinals on Monday.
The Cardinals, who finished sixth at the ACC Championships are making their third-straight regional appearance and their ninth overall. The enter the NCAA Regional after finishing second at the Clemson Invitational and a pair of sixth-place finishes at the Boilermaker Invitational and the ACC Championships.
Louisville is led by Sciot-Siegrist, who has a 71.33 stroke average and three top 10 finishes this year. A two-time all-ACC honoree, Sciot-Siegrist became only the fourth player in ACC history to win back-to-back league titles when he shot a 10-under par two weeks ago. Sciot-Siegrist, who was selected to the Palmer Cup team, owns three tournament titles during his stellar career.
Other ACC squads who qualified for a regional are Clemson (No. 2 seed, Stillwater), Florida State (No. 2 seed, Kohler), Duke (No. 4 seed, Stillwater), Wake Forest (No. 2 seed, Marana), North Carolina (No. 5 seed, Marana), Virginia (No. 5 seed, Vanderbilt), NC State (No. 6, Albuquerque) and Georgia Tech (No. 8 seed, Marana).
The top five teams of the 14 selected to play and the low individual not on the advancing teams will advance to the NCAA Championships, held from May 27-June 1 at Eugene Golf Club in Eugene, Ore. Thirty teams will qualify for the NCAA national tournament through the regional play and the top eight after three rounds will advance to the Match Play championship that will determine the overall champion.
Thirteen teams and 10 individuals not on those teams will compete at each of three regionals while the other three regionals will have 14 teams and five individuals not on those teams. The low five teams and the low individual not on those teams from each regional will advance to the finals.
Team and individual medalist titles will be decided May 27-June 1 at Eugene Country Club in Eugene, Oregon.
