Cards Prepare for ACC Championship This Weekend

LOUISVILLE, Ky.—The University of Louisville men's golf team has been no stranger in facing difficult competition, andf this weekend's championship will be no different as the Cardinals will face six top-25 opponents.
The Cardinals head to the ACC Men's Golf Tournament this weekend at the Old North State Club in New London, N.C. - the 15th consecutive year the ACC Tournament has been held at par 72 The Old North State Club and the 19th time overall. No. 10 Florida State leads six ACC teams ranked in the Golfstat Top 25, followed by No. 11 Wake Forest, No. 12 Clemson, No. 20 Duke, No. 21 Virginia, and No. 24 North Carolina.
Louisville will bring a young team to the ACC Tournament, with two freshmen and a sophomore in the starting lineup, but do return the ACC champion in senior Robin Sciot-Siegrist, who won an ACC title a year ago after shooting 11-under par. Sciot-Siegrist, who is one of the top golfers in school history, has three career wins and 27 top-10 finishes during his career. He owns a school record 71.86 career stroke average in 46 career tournaments.
Sciot-Siegrist was named to the European Palmer Cup team last week as one of the top 10 collegiate golfers in the nation.
Freshmen Keegan de Lange and Simon Zach and junior J.D. Lehman and sophomore Erik Dulik will make their first appearance at the ACC Championhips this weekend.
Collectively, the Cardinals have three second-place finishes this year and are coming off a sixth-place ending last weekend at the Boilermaker Invitational.
The Cardinals will tee at 9:30 a.m. and will be paired with Georgia Tech and NC State.
The tournament will be carried live on ESPN3 and the WatchESPN app beginning at 3 p.m. on Saturday and 1 p.m. on Sunday. There is no charge for admission.
