
Men's Golf Tied for Third Place After First Day of the ACC Championships

Robin Sciot-Siegrist is tied for eighth place.
New London, N.C. – University of Louisville senior Robin Sciot-Siegrist fired a 2-under-par 70 to take the first-round lead, and the men's golf team is in a five-way tie for third place, 14 strokes off the pace at the 63rd annual ACC Championship at the Old North State Club in New London, N.C.
Collectively, the Cardinals, who are tied with Florida State, Virginia, Duke and Georgia Tech, fired a 1-under par 287 after the first round of action at the par 72, 7,102-yard course on Friday morning. Clemson is the leader in the clubhouse after firing a 15-under par 273 and Wake Forest is in second place at 11-under par.
Sciot-Siegrist is tied for eighth after the first round of play after totaling a team-high five birdies. He opened scoring with a birdie on No. 1 and No. 5 en route to another solid performance. He currently sits just four shots behind the leader, Paul McBride of Wake Forest, who shot 66.
Keegan de Lange was also under par by shooting a 1-under par 71 to stand in a tie for 13th place . He birdied No. 4 and No. 6 on the front nine and also scored on No. 11.
Simon Zach was the third Cardinal to finish in the top 20 as he shot an even par 72 to sit in 18th place. Erik Dulik is tied for 38th after shooting a 2-over par 74. While J.D. Lehman fired a 7-over 79 to round out the scoring.
Second round action at the Old North State Club begins at 8 a.m. on Saturday morning.
