Track And Field Wraps Up Competition at the Florida Relays

Cardinals set another school record on the final day
Gainesville, Fla. -- The University of Louisville track and field team wrapped up the final day of competition at the Florida Relays on Saturday. The women's 4x100m shuttle hurdle relay team broke a 16 year old school record for the Cardinals.
The women's shuttle hurdle relay team of Brianne Brown, Alexis Murry, Holly Hankenson, and Linda Mutter finished 10th in the event with a time of 58.49. They broke the previous record of 1:00.76 set in 2000 at the Alabama relays. Â
Issac Bowling followed up his discus win with a third place finish in the shot put. The fifth year senior finished with a mark of 17.24m/56-06.75.  Codie Hamsley finished 11th in the men's discus invite with a throw of 53.55m/175-08 while Steve Wade finished 13th with a throw of 50.26m/164-11. Â
On the women's side, Emmonnie Henderson finished seventh in the women's shot put invite with a throw of 16.02m/52-06.75. She finished 12th in the discus invite with a throw of 50.87m/166-11. Â
Eric Fox finished seventh in the men's pole vault with a mark of 5.00m/16-04.75. The mark was a new personal best for the sophomore. Â
The Cardinals will be back in action next weekend at the Hilltopper Relays. Â
