Cards to wrap-up the regular season this weekend
WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. – The University of Louisville men's golf team closes the regular season by competing in the Boilermaker Invitational this weekend before the ACC Championships on April 22-24. Action starts at 8:45 a.m. ET on both days with 15 teams playing 36 holes on Saturday and 18 holes on Sunday on the legendary Kampen Course.
The Cardinals will look to build off their second-pace finish at the Clemson Invitational last weekend. The Cardinals tied with Georgia Tech for second overall. It was the third time this season the Cards finished in second place, standing in second at the Bank of Tennessee Intercollegiate and the Wexford Plantation Invitational earlier this year.
Robin Sciot-Siegrist, who was named to the prestigious Palmer Cup team on Friday, posted his fifth top 10 finish this year and tied for second place for the second time this year. He placed second at the Bank of Tennessee Intercollegiate. Sciot-Siegrist fired a 6-under par 210 to finish just two shots behind Georgia Tech's Vince Whaley, who won the tournament with a score of 208.
The Boilermaker Invitational will have a Big Ten feel to it as seven league rivals will make their way to The Kampen Course for the 13th annual event. The nation's No. 2-ranked team, Illinois, will look to defend its title against challenges from top-50 teams Purdue (No. 33), Michigan State (No. 38) and Kent State (No. 49). Other top-100 teams in the field include Purdue (No. 38), Northwestern (No. 63) and Ohio State (No. 72). The field is rounded out by Wisconsin, Toledo, Northern Illinois, Indiana, UCF, Cincinnati, Miami (Ohio) and Southern Illinois.
