
Lacrosse Returns to ACC Action on Saturday Against Virginia Tech

Cardinals host the Hokies on Saturday at 1:00 p.m.
LOUISVILLE, KY. -- The No. 6/7 University of Louisville women's lacrosse team welcomes ACC foe Virginia Tech on Saturday at 1:00 p.m. at the UofL Lacrosse Stadium.

The Cardinals enter Saturday's match-up against the Hokies with a 10-1 overall record and a 2-1 conference record. Louisville won three straight non-conference game, including an 11-7 win over Cincinnati on Wednesday. Hannah Koloski scored five goals while Kaylin Morissette scored three goals while capturing 10 of the 19 draw controls.

Three Cardinals have reached the 30-point mark on the season, led by Morissette with 36, scoring 26 goals and adding 10 assists. Daley has 31 points, scoring 24 goals and adding seven assists, while Koloski has 30 points, scoring 28 goals and adding two assists. Gerding follows with 29 points, scoring 14 goals and adding 15 assists. Brittany Read leads the Cardinals in goal with a 6.28 goals against average. The sophomore keeper has compiled a 10-1 record and recorded 85 saves.Â

Virginia Tech owns an overall record of 5-7 and a league record of 0-2 entering Saturday's game. The Hokies have dropped their last five games, three of which were to ranked opponents. The Hokies fell short in overtime, 9-10, against William & Mary last Saturday. Four Hokies scored two goals in the match-up.

Virginia Tech is lead by Tristan McGinley with 28 points, scoring 21 goals and adding seven assists, while Kristine Loscalzo has 27 points, scoring 24 goals and adding three assists. Jessi Thon has 21 points, scoring 17 goals and adding four assists.

Saturday's match-up will be the fourth in the series, which Louisville leads 3-0. Last season the Cardinals defeated the Hokie 15-6 in Blacksburg.
