BIRMINGHAM, ALA. – The University of Louisville track and field team wrapped up the final day at the NCAA Championships with the women finishing tied at 25th and the men finishing tied at 44th. Three athletes earned All-America honors, Ben Williams earned first team honors while Chanel Krause and Emmonnie Henderson earned second team honors.
Williams started the day off in the triple jump where he finished seventh with a mark of 16.22m (53-2¾). He earned first team Indoor All-America honors for the third straight year. He is just the second Cardinals to be named an Indoor All-American three times, joining Tone Belt in that distinction.
The United Kingdom native won the triple jump at the ACC Championships with a season best mark of 16.38m/53-9. The mark led Williams to his second ACC event title, his first in the indoor season. Williams won the event twice this season and has won this event at total of eight times in his three seasons with the Cardinals.
In her first NCAA Indoor Championship appearance, Krause finished 12th in the pole vault, clearing 4.20m (13-9¼). She becomes Louisville's first athlete to earn Indoor All-American honors in the pole vault.
