Six Athletes Set to Compete at NCAA Indoor Track and Field Championships

LOUISVILLE, Ky. - Six University of Louisville track and field athletes will competing at the NCAA Indoor Championships this weekend in Birmingham, Ala. The two-day championship begin March 11-12 and will be held in the Birmingham CrossPlex hosted by Samford University.
Dolly Nyemah, Damar Robinson, and Edwin Kibichiy are schedule to compete on Friday while Ben Williams, Chanel Krause, and Emmonnie Henderson will compete on Saturday.
Live results will be available on NCAA.com and ESPN3 will stream the meet live on March 11 starting at 6:25 p.m. Eastern time and March 12 starting at 4:55 p.m. Eastern time. A re-air of the championship will take place on Sunday, March 13 starting at 7 p.m. Eastern time on ESPN2 and also Wednesday, March 23 starting at 10 p.m. Eastern time on ESPNU.
Nyemah, the first of the six to compete, is scheduled to take part in the women's weight throw trials and final on Friday at 8:20 p.m. ET. Nyemah's best mark of the season in the event came in a victory at the ACC Indoor Championships in which she recorded a 21.64m/71-0 mark which is the sixth-best in the nation. The Indianapolis, Ind., native has won the event three times this season while also posting three runner-up finishes in the event.
Robinson, the reigning ACC Indoor Track & Field Most Valuable Field Performer, is scheduled to compete in the high jump finals at 8:55 p.m. ET. Robinson's best mark of the season of 2.19m/7-2.25, which is tied for 10th in the nation, also came in a victory at the ACC Indoor Championships. Robinson has posted three victories in the high jump this season.
Kibichiy is the final Cardinal that is scheduled to compete on Friday night as he will compete in the 5000m finals at 9:05 p.m. ET. Kibichiy's best time of 13:47.39 came at the Husky Classic and is ranked the 15th best time in the nation. The Kenya native picked up the victory in the event in the opening meet of the indoor season and has also posted two top-10 finishes.
Kicking off action for the Cardinals on Saturday is Williams, who is scheduled to take part in the men's triple jump trials and final at 4:30 p.m. The United Kingdom native has the sixth-best mark in the country in the event at 16.38m/53-9. The mark, which came at the ACC Championships, led Williams to his second ACC event title, his first in the indoor season. Williams, who also holds the school record, has won the event twice this season and has won this event at total of eight times in his three seasons with the Cardinals.
Krause, who holds the 13th best mark in the pole vault, is scheduled to compete in the pole vault finals on Saturday evening at 5 p.m. ET. Krause's mark of 4.30m/14-1.25 is the current school record and also came at the Birmingham CrossPlex back in February during the Samford Invitational.
The final Cardinal that is scheduled to appear at the NCAA Championships is Henderson, who is slated to compete in the shot put trials and finals on Saturday evening at 6 p.m. ET. Henderson's mark of 16.92m/55-6.25 that came at the ACC Championships is ranked 13th in the nation. The Edwardsville, Ill., native has won the event five times including the ACC Championships.
