Wynn registered five straight-set wins en route to USTA Texas Selection title
University of Louisville men's tennis signee Parker Wynn captured the United States Tennis Association 18s National Selection Tournament in Arlington, Texas Feb. 13-15.
Wynn, who hails from North Richland Hills, Texas, entered the tournament as the fifth-seeded singles player. He posted five straight set wins including victories over the top-seeded and third seeded player en route to the title.
"I am so impressed with the level that Parker is playing at," said UofL head coach Rex Ecarma. "Just qualifying for a National Selection is not easy, but winning it is outstanding! He also beat three Blue Chip players in a row which is big time. In tennis, Blue Chip is like a McDonald's All-American in basketball. To defeat one is difficult, but beating three consecutive Blue Chip players is awesome. We are proud of him."
