Edwin Kibichiy Continues His Win Streak to Lead the Cross Country Teams

Louisville men finish sixth while the women finish 11th at the Greater Louisville Classic
Louisville, Ky. – The University of Louisville men's (16-5, 4-0) cross country team finished sixth and the women (17-6, 5-0) finished 11th at the Greater Louisville Classic on Saturday afternoon at E.P. Tom Sawyer Park. Edwin Kibichiy won his third consecutive race of the season to lead the men while Bailey Davis led the women with a career best mark.
Among Division I schools, the Cardinal men finished third while the women finished ninth. Both teams have finished in the Top 10 of all three meets this season.
Kibichiy paced all runners in the 8K with a season best time of 23:34.80 to win the race. Calvin Chemoiywo finished third for the second straight week with a career best time of 23:41.88. George Yator finished 39th with a career best time of 24:48.73, giving the Cards three finishers in the Top 40.
Sophomore Daniel Fleace finished with a career best time of 25:32.58 to finish 109th. Senior Jonathan Reynolds rounded out the top finishers with a season best time of 25:42.22.
On the women's side, junior Bailey Davis finished 42nd for the women with a career best time of 17:37.10. Junior Mia Ross finished 55th with a career best time of 17:45.90.
Caroline Gosser finished with a season best time of 17:46.80 to finish 74th. Claire Noser finished with a season best time of 18:11.0 to finish 110th. Sophomore Aurilla Wilson rounded out the top finishers with a time of 18:18.60.
The Cardinals will be back in action on Oct. 15 at the Pre Nationals in Terre Haute, Ind.
