Courtney Lock earns Louisville's first ACC weekly honor
The University of Louisville's Courtney Lock was named Atlantic Coast Conference Men's Tennis Player of the Week on January 19.
Lock (Harare, Zimbabwe) earned Louisville's first weekly conferenc honors after helping the Cardinals to a 3-1 record in their opening weekend. The sophomore went 3-0 in singles with a 6-0, 6-4 win over Troy's Pablo Moreno, a 6-3, 5-7, 6-4 win over Dayton's Simon Jayaram and a 6-0, 6-0 sweep of Morehead State's Ognjen Sunjevaric, all in the No. 5 spot. Lock also picked up doubles wins in the Dayton, Northwestern and Morehead State matches.
UofL (3-1) will travel to Athens, Ga., to face Memphis in the first round the ITA Kick-Off Weekend. Georgia and UC Santa Barbara will meet in the other first-round match.
