
Track and Field Completes First Day at the Kentucky Invitational

The women's distance medley finishes fourth while two finish the day with personal bests
Lexington, Ky. – The University of Louisville track and field women's team opened up competition in the Kentucky Invitational with a fourth place finish in the women's distance medley relay and two personal bests in the women's weight throw.Â

"We had outstanding efforts today from the women's weight throwers and our women's distance medley relay team," said head coach Dale Cowper. "I'm very pleased with the way they went about competing tonight."

The distance medley relay team of Mia Ross, Taylor Bradley, Kelsey Cramsey and Aurilla Wilson opened up the season with a time of 11:49.54 to finish fourth.

Junior Dolly Nyemah led the weight throwers on the first day of competition. Nyemah finished eighth with a throw of 19.50m\63-11.75. Rachel Serafin finished 16th with a mark of 17.22m\56-06.00. Emmonnie Henderson threw a personal best of 17.13m\56-02.50 to finish 18th.  Freshman Cyerra Cassell threw a personal best of 17.04m\55-11.00 to finish 19th while Megan Brooks finished 38th with a throw of 13.76m\45-01.75.Â

The Cardinals will back in action tomorrow at 9:00 a.m. with the women's and men's high jump. Â Running events are slated to start at noon with the women's 60m hurdles semi-finals.
