
Getting to Know Alex Rich

Throughout the next few weeks, GoCards.com will unveil one member from the University of Louisville women's lacrosse's 2014-15 recruiting class. This week, Pennsylvania resident native Alex Rich is in the spotlight.
LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Freshman Alex Rich is a talented athlete that will be looking to make an impact during her time with the Cardinals.

"Alex Rich is one of the hardest working and determined players to come through Louisville," said head coach Kellie Young.

Rich lettered four years in both lacrosse and basketball while at Cedar Crest High in Pennsylvania. Â She finished her four year career as the all-time leading scorer at Cedar Crest. In 2015, she was selected as a qualifier for the 112-player tryout pool for the 2015 U.S. Women's National Under-19 Lacrosse Team.Â
"I was chose the University of Louisville because of the city and how much the community loves college sports," said Rich. "The togetherness of the team and the coaches were also an attractive quality. The staff is very knowledgeable and I am honored and excited to be playing for them and learning to become the best player I can be."
Her athleticism is apparent, as she has accumulated multiple accolades in both sports. Rich led her team at Cedar Crest in scoring during bother her freshman and sophomore seasons. In 2012, she was named a Lancaster-Lebanon Section 1 All-Star, while in both 2013 and 2014 she was named a Section 2 All-Star and Lebanon League All-Star. She was also named to the 2013 Central PA National Team (WDNT), and selected to Nike Elite 120.
In basketball, Rich led her team in scoring and rebounding as a sophomore and rebounding as a junior. She was also named a second team All-Star in 2013 and to the honorable mention team in 2014. Â
