Brown and Gornet in Preseason ITA Rankings

Seniors Jeffrey Brown and Alex Gornet are No. 35 in the ITA preseason doubles rankings
With the 2015-16 fall tennis season ready to start, the University of Louisville's Alex Gornet and Jeffrey Brown stand tied for No. 35 in the Intercollegiate Tennis Association preseason rankings.
"I am glad that the national rankings committee acknowledged Jeff and Alex," said UofL head coach Rex Ecarma. "There are over 1200 doubles teams in Division I and to be in the top 35 is good. I think they are even better. They finished out last season well and have momentum going into this season."
Gornet, a senior from Louisville, Ky., and Brown, a senior from Mandeville, La., posted a team-best 16-5 overall record and went 14-3 in dual matches playing mostly at No. 1 for the Cardinals. The duo spent six weeks in the ITA rankings reaching as high as No. 56 last season.
The Cardinals return five letterwinners from the 2015 team which posted a 23-9 record and made its 11th overall NCAA appearance. After losing six seniors to graduation, Louisville welcomes seven newcomers to the 2015-16 team.
