Cardinals End John Hayt in 10th Place

PONTE VEDRA, Fla. - The University of Louisville men's golf team finished 10th at the John Hayt Collegiate Invitational which was played at Sawgrass Country Club over the weekend.
On Sunday, the Cardinals finished the three-day event by posting a total score of 913 (+49). Af-ter posting a 296 to climb into sixth place after Saturday's second round, the Cardinals struggled on Sunday, shooting 309 for the 10th-place finish. Louisville shot 308-296-309=913, which was 41 shots behind Texas, who won the tournament with a score of 872.
Gus Lundquist was the highest finisher for the Cardinals, shooting 78-71-76=225 to tie for 25th overall.
Robin Sciot-Siegrist, who was playing in the top spot for the Cardinals carded 75-76-76=227 to tie for 34th.
Max Walz tied for 37th overall after shooting 78-74-76=228, while J.D. Lehman was tied for 68th after he rounds of 77-79-81=237. Robert Geibel tied for 73rd after he shot 83-75-82=240.
Texas posted scores of 301-280-291--872 (+8) to take home the team championship. Beau Hossler of Texas was the only player to finish the event under par. He captured the individual title after carding rounds of 76-66-70--212 to finish 4-under par.
The Cardinals will be back in action on March 13 when they travel to Tallahassee, Fla., for the Seminole Intercollegiate.
