Women's Golf Moves into Top 10 at UCF Challenge

LOUISVILLE, Ky. - Laura Restrepo paced the University of Louisville women's golf team for the second-consecutive day at the UCF Challenge, helping the Cardinals move into the top 10 on Monday in Orlando, Fla.
The Cardinals tallied the most pars in the second day of competition, totaling 70 to move into a tie for ninth with a 1-under-par 287 at the Eagle Creek Golf Club. Virginia is sitting in first with a 19-under-par 557.
Restrepo, who shot a season-best 3-under-par 69 on Sunday, carded a 2-under in round two. The junior hit a pair of birdies on the back nine to give her a 70 for the day. With a 5-under-par 139 through two rounds of competition, she is tied for 11th on the individual leaderboard and three strokes off the lead.
Emily Haas improved upon her first-round score, producing a 1-under-par 71. She started the day with four-consecutive pars before clubbing a bogey on 14. She finished the back nine even after tallying a birdie on 17. The senior then added birdies to her total on Nos. 1 and 8, helping her move up into a tie for 32nd.
Louise Oxner, who has the Cardinals' third-best score, made a four-stroke improvement from Sunday. She had 10-straight pars to start the day and then knocked in a birdie on No. 2. Oxner tied for the most pars on the day with 16 and is holding on to a tie for 54th following her par-72.
Rounding out the top four scorers, Katie Mitchell produced a 4-over-par 76.
Louisville returns to action for the third and final round of the event on Tuesday, with tee times for the Cardinals set at 9:15 a.m.
