Women's Golf Finishes 12th at UCF Challenge

LOUISVILLE, Ky. - The University of Louisville women's golf team wrapped up play at the UCF Challenge on Tuesday, placing 12th following the third and final day of competition at Eagle Creek Golf Club in Orlando, Fla.
The Cardinals compiled an 18-over-par 306 on the final day. Virginia won the competition with a 14-under-par 850.
Louisville's top finisher, Laura Restrepo carded a 4-over-par 76 in the third round. The junior was 1-under-par through the first eight holes and then had a double bogey on consecutive holes. She countered with a birdie on the next hole, but finished the day with bogeys on two of her last five holes.
Restrepo tied for 14th on the leaderboard, concluding her time at the event with a 1-under-par 215.
Katie Mitchell produced the best score of the day for Louisville, firing a par-72. She improved four strokes from Monday's performance, tallying four birdies on the front nine. She tied for 42nd in the event.
Emily Haas and Louise Oxner rounded out the Cardinals' top-four scorers. Haas carded an 8-over-par 80 on the final day, while Oxner hit a 6-over-par 78.
Louisville returns to action on Feb. 22, facing Kentucky in the Battle of the Bluegrass State dual match. The event will be held at the PGA Village St. Lucie Trail Golf Club in Port St. Lucie, Fla.
