Cards Sit in Eighth at First Round

PONTE VEDRA, Fla. -- - The University of Louisville men's golf team finds themselves in eighth place after day one at Sawgrass Country Club as the Cardinals opened their spring season at the John Hayt Invitational.
The Cardinals shot 308 as a team and stand 12 shots behind North Florida, the leader after first round of action. Oklahoma State is in second place, sitting just one shot back. UCLA and Alabama are tied for third place.
Playing in windy conditions, Robin Sciot-Siegrist struggled to a 3-over par 75 to pace the Cardinals in 15th place.
J.D. Lehman was a 5-over 77 on the afternoon to stand in a tie for 30th, while Max Walz and Gus Lundquist are tied for 42nd after their rounds of 78. Robert Geibel is tied for 76th after his score of 83.
Saturday's second round tee times will be announced shortly.
