February 20, 2015 | Women's Lacrosse
The No. 13/15 University of Louisville women's lacrosse team will look to continue its winning ways when it hosts Canisius on Saturday at 1:00 p.m. at UofL Lacrosse Stadium.
The Cards (1-0) are coming off a 17-8 season-opening win over Cincinnati last Sunday. Sophomore Hannah Koloski scored a career-high six goals and junior Cortnee Daley added five more to lead Louisville over the Bearcats. Junior Kaylin Morissette finished the match with 14 draw controls, tying a school record she set last season against Cincinnati. Morissette also set a new school record for career draw controls with 249.
Canisius (0-2) fell 21-13 and 19-7 to No. 3 Syracuse in its first two contests of the season. The defending Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference champions are led offensively by Tori Quinn, who has tallied five goals on the season for the Golden Griffins, four of which came in the first game against the Orange.
The Cards hold a 1-0 series lead over Canisius. The most recent contest was played in 2013, when Louisville defeated the Golden Griffins 13-3 at UofL Lacrosse Stadium. The scheduled 2014 matchup between the two squads was cancelled due to inclement weather.
