Throughout the next few weeks, GoCards.com will unveil one member from the University of Louisville women's lacrosse's 2014-15 recruiting class. This week, Florida resident native Jody Julmice is in the spotlight.
LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Jody Julmice is a multi-sport athlete that excels in every sport and will give the Cardinals a lot of athleticism in the midfield this season.Â
"Jody was recruited as a raw athlete with great potential," said head coach Kellie Young. Â "She has now grown into an impactful player with game sense and an incredible tenacity."
A three-sport athlete at American Heritage School in Florida, Julmice has lettered in track and field, soccer, and lacrosse. She has shown a commitment to athletics, lettering in each sport for four years. In her final season in lacrosse she was the team captain. She also earned all-district, all-region, and all-county honors. Julmice also played for the club team LaxManiax.
Â
"I chose the University of Louisville because of the athletics atmosphere and all the resources they have to offer," said Julmice. "They immediately made me feel welcomed on my visit. The staff is super smart and they have great knowledge of the game."
While at American Heritage, Julmice has earned multiple honors in both lacrosse and track and field. As a lacrosse athlete, she was named to the first team All-District as well as to the National Team South Florida. She was also selected to the Under Armour All-America Team.
Her talents also extended to the track, where she qualified for state championships four times in field events and was featured in ESPN The Magazine on her records as a discus thrower.
