LOUISVILLE, Ky. - The Louisville rowing program will host its only home event of the season with the eighth annual Red & Black Regatta on Saturday at 10:30 a.m., ET at the G. Garvin Brown III Rowing Center along River Road.
The event is scheduled to include several intra-squad scrimmage races followed by a cookout with the rowers and coaches. The annual Red & Black Regatta is the only chance for fans and supporters to see the Cardinals compete at home during the 2014-15 season.
This will be a great opportunity for parents and fans to see quick, action packed racing scrimmage style. As the rowers work throughout the year to constantly achieve new goals, this event serves as a terrific chance for fans to see the sport up close and then enjoy the company of the team with great food following the racing.
The Red & Black Regatta will begin 10:30a.m., with introductions of the Louisville rowers and coaching staff and recognition of Louisville's award winners from the previous season. The boats are scheduled to launch at 10:50 a.m., and will be followed by the racing, which should be completed by approximately 12:20 p.m. The cookout, sponsored by Fischer's, will follow the racing.
The Cardinal Pride Pep Band and Cardinal Bird mascot will also be in attendance, while raffle drawings will be held throughout the day. Louisville rowing gear will also be on sale throughout the day. Click here for directions to the G. Garvin Brown III Rowing Center.
