
Brown Reaches IU Hoosier Classic Singles Semifinals

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - University of Louisville junior Jeffrey Brown advanced to the singles semifinals of the Indiana University Hoosier Classic Saturday.
"We were 7-1 in singles today and showed a lot of determination," said UofL head coach Rex Ecarma. "Jeff is playing well and into the semifinals of a 64-player draw. The confidence is building and these freshmen are showing signs of true development."
Junior Jeffrey Brown picked up a 6-3, 7-6 win over IPFW's Andres Cobos and went on to beat Indiana's Chris Essick 7-6, 6-4 in the quarterfinals.
Freshman Courtney Lock posted a pair of wins in the consolation division while sophomore Santiago Salazar and freshman Pally Ray also won their first singles matches of the day.
