Louisville, Ky. - University of Louisville women's lacrosse head coach Kellie Young announced the program's fall schedule on Monday, highlighted by a home contest against Marquette and an alumnae game both in October.
"This fall, we are facing some of the strongest talent in the country as we prepare for our first year in the ACC," said Young. "Each scrimmage will prepare us in different ways to take on the toughest schedule in program history."
The Cardinals open competition on Sept. 27 at Boston University, which finished 9-11 last season. The Terriers finished third in the Patriot League last year.
A day later, Louisville is scheduled to play in the Harvard Tournament on Sept. 28 in Cambridge, Mass. The Crimson finished last season with a 9-7 record, for a third place finish in the Ivy League. Also participating in the tournament is Boston College, New Hampshire and Albany.
The Cardinals will continue on the road on Oct. 5 as they face Johns Hopkins in Baltimore, Md. The Blue Jays finished with an impressive 15-5 record last season. They were ranked eighth in the nation last season and graduated all-americans Sammy Cermack and Taylor D'Amore.
Louisville will then wrap up the four game road stint at James Madison on Oct. 11. James Madison finished last season with an 11-7 overall record and won the Colonial Athletic Conference title.
The Cardinals will play host to their annual banquet on Oct. 17 and will host an alumnae game the following day. Louisville will wrap up the fall season on Oct. 25 as they host Marquette and Detroit Mercy.
