University of Louisville men's swimming signee Todd Owen won his first junior national championship in the 200 breaststroke at the 2014 Speedo Junior National Championships in Irvine, California. His time of 2:16.25 was the fastest in the field.
Owen, a Louisville native and Ballard High School graduate, will join the Cards from the Ralph Wright Natatoriums' own Cardinal Aquatics. Under the guidance of UofL assistant coach and Cardinal Aquatics Head Senior Coach Chris Lindauer, Owen has shown remarkable improvement in his limited time in the sport. His current bests include 54.32 and 1:56.31 in the 100 and 200 yard breaststroke.
