
Women's Swimmers Set For NCAA Championships

The 2014 NCAA Women's Swimming Championship will begin Thursday in Minneapolis, Minn. at the Minnesota Aquatic Center, with competition taking place March 20-22. Eight University swimmers have qualified to participate at the national meet.
ESPN3.com will stream finals sessions on Friday and Saturday live, beginning at 7 p.m. Thursday's finals (7 p.m.), along with the morning sessions on Friday and Saturday, will be streamed live via gophersports.com.
Conference champion Louisville will send eight swimmers to the NCAAs, with four individual qualifiers and four additional athletes traveling as part of relay teams. Andrea Cottell will swim the 100 and 200 yard breaststroke, Gisselle Kohoyda the 200 breaststroke, and Kelsi Worrell will swim the 50 freestyle along with the 100 and 200 yard butterfly. Junior Tanja Kylliainen, named Women's Most Outstanding Swimmer at the American Athletic Conference Championships, will compete in the 200 and 400 IM as well as the 200 butterfly. Krissie Brandenburg, Mackenzie Buss, Breann McDowell, and Alexandra Sellers will compete in relays.
