
No. 9 Swimming and Diving Set to Face Tar Heels

The No. 9 University of Louisville men's and women's swimming and diving team will host their inaugural ACC dual as they welcome the North Carolina Tar Heels on Friday and Saturday at Ralph Wright Natatorium.
The two squads will face off on Friday night at 5 p.m. and finish the meet with a 10 a.m. start on Saturday morning.
In their last meet, Louisville swept Cincinnati with the men winning 210-87 and the women being victorious 204-94. Kelsi Worrell won in four events (50 free, 200 fly, 200 medley relay, and 200 free relay) while Tanja Kylliainen won in three events (1650 free, the 400 IM, and the 200 medley relay). Trevor Carroll won the 100 free and 200 medley relay while teammate Matthias Lindenbauer won both the 200 and 500 freestyle. Sean Piner swept both diving events for the Cardinals.
The UNC men's swimming and diving team comes into the weekend with a No. 7 ranking in the CSCAA Poll with wins over defending ACC champions No. 12 Virginia Tech (182-118) and No. 14 Tennessee (170-130) and a close loss to No. 4 Georgia (145-155).
The men won 11 events and won both relays against the Hokies. Sam Lewis had two individual wins (50 free and 100 fly) and was also a part of two winning relays for the Heels for the second straight meet. He was involved in four wins against Georgia. Diver Jack Nyquist won both the 1m and 3m springboard against Georgia while Lewis swam the fastest time in the nation with a time of 47.35 in the 100 fly.
UNC won seven individual events against Tennessee with Logan Heck and Ben Colley grabbing two individual wins. Heck won both the 50 free and the 100 free while Colley won both the 100 and 200 fly.
The UNC women's swimming and diving team faces the Cardinals with a No. 5 ranking in the CSCAA Poll with wins over Virginia Tech (186-108) and Tennessee (204-96) and a loss to the defending NCAA champions Georgia (136-164).
Sarah Hitchens (50 free and 100 free) and Emma Nunn (200 fly and 500 free) won two individual events in the 186-108 win against Virginia Tech.
Against Tennessee, two Tar Heel divers broke school records as they cruised to a 204-96 win. Elissa Dawson won the one-meter event with a score of 320.40 and Michole Timm won the three-meter with a score of 352.35. Hellen Moffitt added three individual wins in the 100 back, 200 back, and the 100 fly for the Tar Heels.
Following the dual meet with UNC, they will travel to Tennessee next weekend with a meet with the Volunteers and Auburn.
