
Volleyball Heads to Clemson and Wake Forest

Janelle Jenkins and Maya McClendon lead the Cardinals offensively with 295 and 290 kills, respectively. Katie George adds 972 assists on and has 29 service aces this season for the Cards while Tess Clark paces the team defensively as she contributes 114 total blocks and has 1.19 blocks per set.
Louisville will face Clemson on Friday night at 7 p.m. This will be the third time in history the two teams have faced off, with the Cards notching both wins. The Tigers (17-10, 5-8 ACC) are coming off a split as they notched a 3-1 victory over Syracuse and took a 3-0 loss against Boston College. Sophomore outside hitter Leah Perri and senior Karis Watson led the balanced attack with 12 kills apiece while seniors Beta Dumancic and Kristin Faust added 10 kills. Perri led Clemson with 11 kills against Boston College. Freshman setter Kate Frederico was the lone Tiger with a double-double with 25 assists while adding 11 digs.
Faust leads the Tigers offensively with 338 kills while Perri adds 310. Frederico adds 1006 assists and is fourth in the ACC with 9.77 assists per set. Watson has 153 blocks on the season and is third in the ACC with 1.49 blocks per set while Dumancic adds 123 blocks with 1.19 blocks per set.
Following the match against Clemson, Louisville will head to Winston Salem, N.C. to take on the Demon Deacons at 6:30 p.m. on Saturday. It will be Wake Forest's Senior Day as they honor their three seniors. Wake Forest sits at 13-13 overall and 3-9 in ACC play and have lost eight of the last nine. The Demon Deacons come into the match after a weekend split with a win against Georgia Tech and a loss to Pittsburgh. Wake Forest's 3-2 win over Georgia Tech snapped a seven-game losing streak. Senior outside hitter Jazmen Russell had a game-high 29 kills with a very respectable .471 attack percentage against Georgia Tech. Junior middle blocker Matalee Reed added 13 kills while freshman outside hitter Kylie Long added 10 for the Demon Deacons. Russell had a game-high 12 kills in the 3-0 loss to Pittsburgh where the team hit .082.
Russell leads the Demon Deacons offensively with 420 kills and 4.33 kills per set, which is good for second in the conference. Freshman libero Caroline Wolf is third in the ACC with 4.30 digs per set and has 434 digs on the season. Reed and senior teammate Ashlee Rusk leads the team at the net with 85 and 81 blocks, respectively.
Louisville will return home for the final three games of the regular season with matches against Duke and North Carolina next weekend before hosting Pittsburgh. UNC has been designated as Senior Day to accomodate the travel of senior parents.
