
Cardinals Finish Fourth at Memphis Intercollegiate

CORDOVA, Tenn. - - The University of Louisville men's golf team fired a 6-over-par 290 in the final round to finish fourth at Colonial Country Club. It marked the best finish for the Cardinals this spring.
Austin Peay claimed the team title with an 897 (+33) while Louisiana-Lafayette finished two strokes back at 899. Louisville finished four strokes behind Memphis with 910 while No. 35 Vanderbilt rounded out the top five with a 912.
For the team, Max Walz helped the Tigers finish in front of four top-50 teams with a 54-hole score of 221 (+5) to tie for second overall. Walz moved up the leaderboard from 15th in the final round after shooting a 1-under-par 71. For the tournament, Walz fired 76-74-71=221, which was the best finish for Walz during his brief career with the Cardinals.
Freshman Robin Sciot-Siegrist fired 76-76-75=227 to tie for 17th, while Gus Lundquist was tied for 24th at 74-84-71=229.
As an individual, Antoine LeSaux tied for 42nd after firing 78-83-73=234.
Trevor Sluman was tied for 62nd by carding 78-81-80=239 and Chris Malec was tied for 83rd after carding 91-79-79=249.
The Cardinals will compete at the Irish Creek Invitational in Charlotte, N.C., on April 6-7.
