
Men's Tennis Plays Host to Dayton and Xavier Wednesday

The University of Louisville men's tennis team will play host to Dayton at 12 p.m. and Xavier at 4:30 p.m. in a doubleheader Wednesday at the Bass-Rudd Tennis Center.
"Wednesday will be another challenge for this team," said U of L head coach Rex Ecarma. "Dayton is competitive and this is the best Xavier team that I have ever seen. Our doubles are improving and we showed some toughness in our victory over Arizona winning four of five three set matches."
About Louisville
The Cardinals (10-9) enter the week at No. 46 in the most recent Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) team rankings. Louisville is coming off of a 6-1 win over Arizona on Saturday. The Cards took the doubles point and got singles wins from Sebastian Stiefelmeyer, Albert Wagner, Michael Lippens, Alex Gornet and Austin Siegel. Sophomore Sebastian Stiefelmeyer stands at No. 79 in the latest ITA singles rankings with a 20-12 overall record in singles and nine dual match wins. Freshman Alex Gornet is No. 113 in the singles rankings with a 20-7 overall mark and a 10-3 record in dual matches Sophomore Albert Wagner and freshman Alex Gornet carry a 13-5 overall doubles record, 6-4 mark in dual matches.

Tough at Home
Louisville is 6-1 at the Bass-Rudd Tennis Center in 2013. The Cards were 13-1 at the BRTC last season with their only loss coming to #3 Ohio State on Feb. 9, 2012. U of L started a new undefeated streak which currently stands at 15 .
